Other Series_KOGI
Korea Corporate Governance Stock Price Index (abbreviated as KOGI) is an index devised to promote the voluntary improvement of corporate governance of the listed companies by providing reliable assessment opportunities for firms that possess good corporate governance system.
Of the stocks listed on the KRX-Stock Market that meet the have higher than regular standards for liquidity, 50 stocks with the highest score for corporate governance are selected as the constituents of KOGI. The base date of KOGI is July 2, 2001, with the base index of 1,000 points, and KOGI is being published since December 1, 2003.
Calculation
KOGI is a market capitalization weighted index and is calculated as follows. However, in case of an individual constituent stock whose market capitalization exceed 10/100 of total market capitalization of the fifty constituent stocks, the number of listed shares of such stock are adjusted, so that the market capitalization of an individual stock does not exceed 10/100 of total market capitalization. Other calculations for market capitalization, treatment of preferred stocks, etc., are the same as for KOSPI.
Publication
KOGI is updated on the KRX website every 10 seconds and is available in statistical KRX publication “KRX Review” on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. In addition, past indices have been made available for investors retrospective to July 2, 2001.
